About Home-Start Colchester, Jaywick and Clacton
Starting in the home, the Home-Start approach is as individual as the people we’re helping. No judgement, it is just compassionate, confidential help and expert support.
Across the North East Essex quadrant there are two independent Home-Start charities both rooted into the local communities they service. Home-Start Colchester, Jaywick and Clacton have aligned their offer to deliver much needed services to local families with children 0 – 11 years, with the aim to give children the best possible start in life.

We offer a wide range of services including:
- 1:1 Parenting support
- Practical and emotional support
- General information and support to access government aid
- Behaviour advice and strategies to support children 0-11 years
- Group support for parents and children to build skills
- Workshops for children aged 5-11 years
- Play opportunities and school readiness advice
- Peer support to improve resilience and isolation
- Volunteer recruitment and training
- Forest School
- Volunteer home visiting
