About Home-Start Harwich
Starting in the home, the Home-Start approach is as individual as the people we’re helping. No judgement, it is just compassionate, confidential help and expert support.
Across the North-East Essex quadrant there are two independent Home-Start charities both rooted into the local communities they service. Home-Start Harwich have aligned their offer to deliver much needed services to local families with children 0 – 11 years, with the aim to give children the best possible start in life.

We offer a wide range of services including:
- 1:1 Parenting support
- Practical and emotional support
- General information and support to access government aid
- Behaviour advice and strategies to support children 0-11 years
- Group support for parents and children to build skills
- Workshops for children aged 5-11 years
- Play opportunities and school readiness advice
- Peer support to improve resilience and isolation
- Volunteer recruitment and training
- Forest School
- Volunteer home visiting
