Make tooth brushing a daily adventure!

We know that getting your little ones to brush their teeth can sometimes be challenging, so we’ve got some top tips to make it fun rather than a chore!

Top tips:

  • Keep it interesting: incorporate your child’s favourite song, dance or a counting game into their tooth brushing routine
  • Listen to tooth brushing songs: there are lots of these available on YouTube (including Hey Duggee above!)
  • Try brushing your child’s teeth while they’re in the bath: this might make it easier while they’re feeling relaxed in the water or distracted by bath toys
  • Use a mirror: place it in front of your child so they can see themselves brushing their teeth
  • Introduce a reward system: for example, a tooth brushing chart with stickers (please see tooth brushing chart below!)
  • Your child may prefer: following verbal or visual step-by-step instructions from start to finish as they brush
  • For an extra layer of excitement, or if your child has sensory needs: there are electric toothbrushes available to buy for children from around the age of 3 (you can get ones that light up and flash etc!)
