The importance of nursery rhymes!
To celebrate the Essex Year of Number we have designed new rhyme cards! There are 5 rhymes cards that are all based around number – you might notice some of the old classics like One potato, Two Potato.
Research shows us that singing songs to your child can develop their vocabulary and if a child knows eight nursery rhymes by the time they start school they are more likely to be more confident in their reading, writing and maths by Year 6!
We already have our original rhyme cards, so our new number cards creates a lovely collection for your child. The picture of the front helps your child recognise the song before they even start reading, the words to the song are on the back to help you learn the song together.
One of the cards in the pack shares our Talk, Listen, Cuddle Top Ten Talking Tips. These tips share key strategies to help you to understand how to support your child’s language and communication skills at home.
