Baby and Toddler Rhyme Time
Baby and toddler rhyme time sessions run in all Essex libraries. You and your child will get to share rhymes and learn new songs – you can also refresh yourself with some old rhymes that you may have heard when you were little!
The library team have also recorded some online rhyme time sessions (please see video above) that you can share together in the comfort of your own home.
Summer and Winter Reading Challenges
Each Summer and Winter Essex libraries hold a reading challenge, which have a certain theme and involve a range of things to read, make and do. When you finish the challenge you receive a certificate and a prize, with a chance to enter a big prize draw!
School Readiness Campaign
Every Summer, Essex libraries host this campaign which includes ‘Big School Meet Up’ sessions and starting school borrow bags; each one contains 6 specially chosen stories/information books to help support you and your child.
